A warm welcome from Shadwell Cricket Club ...

A Brief Introduction

The village Cricket Club was founded in 1895 and has been the major sporting focal point of the community for more than 100 years. More than half of the Cricket played at the Club is at junior level (through the four junior sides the Club runs U11, U13, U15 and U17). All junior Cricket is heavily subsidised and administered in accordance with all current ECB policies. The Club has strong links with local schools, Yorkshire County Cricket Club, Leeds City Council and the YCCC Cricket Development team. We run summer coaching camps (for juniors), an August Bank Holiday car boot sale and are heavily involved in the Shadwell Community Bonfire. Two thirds of the Clubs senior players came through the junior ranks - showing that junior Cricket is indeed the 'lifeblood' of the Club.
